Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most about boarding, daycare, and life at Fuzzy Paws Canine Resort.
What does my dog need to come to Fuzzy Paws for boarding or daycare?
Your first daycare visit requires an advance appointment for a temperament test to make sure your dog plays well with others. For both overnight stays and daycare, your dog needs a completed application, up-to-date rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations, a negative fecal test within 30 days of the first visit, and a PA dog license from the county where you live. See our boarding and daycare pages for full requirements.
Do I need a reservation to board my dog?
Yes. Always make a reservation for overnight stays so we can confirm availability — we fill up quickly, especially during holiday weeks and summer.
Can I bring my dog to daycare without a reservation?
Before your dog’s first visit, you’ll need to schedule a temperament test and complete the application with veterinary records (unless already done for an overnight stay). Once your dog is registered, no reservation is needed for daycare.
When I call and get voicemail, should I call back or leave a message?
Please leave a message — someone will call you back within 48 hours, usually much sooner. We’re often hands-on with the dogs and can’t always answer the phone right away, but every call gets returned.
Can I tour your facility?
Yes — tours of Fuzzy Paws Canine Resort are available by appointment. Call 724-746-3899 to schedule one.
What holidays are drop-off and pick-up unavailable?
New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Is doggie daycare available on weekends?
Yes! Fuzzy Paws Canine Resort offers doggy daycare seven days a week. Weekday hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Weekend availability and holiday hours may vary, so please contact us to confirm scheduling.
Do daycare and overnight dogs share the same play areas?
No — daycare and overnight boarding dogs use separate play areas.
How many times do overnight dogs go outside?
At least 8–10 times a day.
Can I bring my dog's own food?
Yes. In fact, you must bring your dog’s own food, as we do not provide it. It’s best for your dog’s digestive system if he or she is eating the food their system is used to digesting. Food can be purchased at Fuzzy Paw’s Pet Boutique, but it is best to use the food your dog is familiar with.
Will my dog need a temperament test before boarding?
We temperament test every dog on arrival for boarding and place them in an appropriate play area.
Can I bring bedding or cloth items from home?
No — we provide a bed and blanket to reduce the risk of bringing in germs, fleas, or ticks. Beds are stripped daily and all bedding is washed regularly.
What happens if you lose power?
We have a full backup generator to keep your dog comfortable and safe during an outage.
Does Fuzzy Paws offer dog training?
